General Admissions and Lottery Process

ADMISSIONS PROCESS AND INFORMATION

The East Fort Worth Montessori Academy (E.F.W.M.A) employs a streamlined application process through a concise Intent to Apply form, designed for new and prospective students. Upon submission, the registrar promptly engages with families, providing updates regarding acceptance or placement on the waitlist. This initial application phase is strategically scheduled for late winter to early spring, with the application becoming available in December for a period of eight weeks. Subsequently, the portal closes for two weeks in February for processing. However, in alignment with our flexible admissions policy, E.F.W.M.A welcomes rolling applications throughout the year. Following the initial application period, parents may submit the Intent to Apply form upon its re-release, with acceptance contingent upon class space availability. In instances where classes are at capacity, applicants will be placed on a waiting list until openings arise within the academic year.

E.F.W.M.A Registration Period

Upon acceptance, the Ascender Registration Portal serves as the conduit for completing school forms and submitting necessary documents. E.F.W.M.A mandates that all paperwork be digitized for submission, ensuring a streamlined and efficient enrollment process.

Enrollment Confirmation

Enrollment at E.F.W.M.A is officially confirmed when your child attends the first day of school in August. This confirmation is contingent upon the verification of attendance, marking the beginning of your child's educational journey with us.

Lottery Process

In the event that the number of applicants exceeds available spaces at any grade level at the conclusion of the application period, the East Fort Worth Montessori Academy will implement an electronic lottery in compliance with State of Texas regulatory guidelines to allocate the available spaces. Exceptions to participation in the lottery, provided applications are received within the designated period, include:

- Children of East Fort Worth Montessori Academy staff members
- Siblings of currently enrolled students at East Fort Worth Montessori Academy

Applicants not selected for immediate enrollment will be systematically placed on a waiting list in accordance with their assigned lottery number. It is important to acknowledge that, under circumstances of exceptionally limited space, a lottery may also be necessary for those typically exempt from the process.

Waiting List Management

The East Fort Worth Montessori Academy is committed to maintaining an optimal student-to-teacher ratio within fully occupied classrooms. To this end, a computerized waiting list for each grade level will be diligently managed. Should vacancies arise during the academic year, such as from student withdrawals, the family of the next eligible student on the waiting list for that grade will be promptly notified to proceed with the registration process. It is noteworthy that placement on the waiting list can be adjusted downward for students who are not siblings of current enrollees. Families of waitlisted students will be given a response window of 24 to 48 hours upon notification. Failure to respond within this timeframe will result in the opportunity being extended to the next student in line.

Post-Lottery Applications

Submissions received after the lottery deadline will be appended to the bottom of the waiting list for the relevant grade level. The Academy welcomes applications throughout the academic year and will continue to enroll students as spaces become available beyond the start of the school year.
