Special Education
Overview
SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
At East Fort Worth Montessori Academy (EFWMA), we offer comprehensive special education services for students from Pre-K to 5th grade who present unique learning needs across both mainstream and specialized educational environments. Our core mission is to equip every student with the supports necessary to foster lifelong learning.
In alignment with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), eligibility for special education services is determined based on specific criteria, addressing either an educational need or a disability. The initiation of the referral process is contingent upon the evaluation by our Student Success Team (SST) and necessitates parental consent for any subsequent assessments or evaluations.
Central to the efficacy of special education at EFWMA is the active participation of parents. Their engagement is crucial to the formulation and success of tailored educational programs. We deeply value the contributions, commitment, and positive impact parents have on their children's educational journeys.
