About Me
Mr. Aguilar
I hold an Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Drafting from Texas State Technical College in Harlingen, Texas, and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Technologies, focusing on Workforce Leadership and Training, from The University of Texas at Brownsville. Further advancing my education, I acquired a Master of Education in Educational Technology from The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley. My professional journey includes nearly five years as an administrative assistant at a Middle School within Brownsville ISD, a role through which I developed skills in leadership, budget management, teaching, and professional development.
Currently, I am in my tenth year at East Fort Worth Montessori Academy, serving as a Technology Applications/Computer Science teacher and Robotics coach for elementary students ranging from Pre-Kinder to 5th grade. My work is dedicated to making meaningful changes in students' education, preparing them for future challenges by teaching computer science, coding principles, robotics, and the transformative use of technology.
As an avid Edcamper, I actively participate in sharing and networking with fellow educators in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I facilitate workshops on a variety of topics, including coding, gamification, digital portfolios with Seesaw, and coding platforms such as Scratch Jr, Scratch, CodeMonkey, Bitsbox, as well as innovative tools like OsmoCoding, LEGO Education, Sphero EDU, and Minecraft Education.
